With its nutritional value, quinoa might be considered as a super grain although technically it is not a grain, the seed of the plant is related to spinach and Swiss chard. What I love most about the numerous quinoa nutrition facts is the amount of protein you get.
Why is it called the super grain or "Mother of all grains"? Well because unlike most grains, it does not lack the amino acid lysine. Quinoa actually has a lot of lysine content. This means that you are getting complete high quality protein for every serving. This is same as true with other non-true grains like buckwheat and amaranth.
